The Colors of Love: An Alaipayuthey picspam

Yeah, this is yet another picspam for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy. :P This time, I'm picspamming what is perhaps one of my all-time favorite Indian movie songs: "Pachai Nirame" from the Tamil movie Alaipayuthey. The reason it is particularly apt for the "Color Focus" challenge is that it is actually a song about colors. :D The lyrics of the song has the male lead character comparing his love interest to the many colors of nature and the cool thing is that you don't have to know anything Tamil at all to understand what color the song is talking about at any particular moment since the visuals help you out. :D

Some of you might recognize the song since Alaipayuthey was remade into Hindi as Saathiya and A.R. Rahman used the same music score. The Hindi equivalent of this song is the eponymous Saathiya but, with apologies to Rani Mukherjee and Sonu Nigam's voice, it is just not as awesome or pretty as the original "Pachai Nirame". I'm sorry, it's just true.

And because this picspam doesn't do enough justice to the prettiness:

Please don't use these screencaps for graphic-making!

OMFG. I absolutely <3 this song. I agree that the Hindi version just doesn't seem to measure up to the Tamil one. I'm going to listen to it again now. :D

Wow, this is just a ridiculously pretty picspam! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up! :)

PS - I did a picspam on Saathiya for the same challenge, but I have to agree, the original is better, mostly because Madhavan >>>>> Vivek Oberoi. :P

Wow I'm accustomed to the Hindi version first and aside from your gorgeous picspam when I saw this vid I was like "eh, still like the Hindi vid better" but it's been a while so I went to watch it and wow! This Tamil version is WAY better! The colors, the song, everything! Love it!

Bollywood just can't help copying everyone huh? I thought it was just a knack for Hollywood but guess it doesn't stop there. Anyway thanks for introducing me to the original (i was unaware).

P.S. Did I mention how gorgeous your picspam was? ;D Great coloring.

Wah! So pretty :) Great job on the colouring :) It's one of my favourite songs ever.
What's more it was a really good movie :) Madhavan and Shalini were both wonderful. The music and cinematography also top notch.
