Thank you so much for watching iconnaissances! It's been a few months since I last did icon requests so I think I did another round! ;) I'm going to be doing interest icons again because I find it lots of fun to get to know the interests and personalities of people who watch this community. I do have one request myself: when you comment to this post to let me know that you would like request interest icons from me, please feel free to give me suggestions and general feedback! I'm constantly curious about why people friend this community and I'd love to know what you like and what you'd like to see more of. I'm open to suggestions for other fandoms/subjects that you would like to see me icon (I can't make promises that I will icon your recommendations but I'm open to trying new things!). I started watching because of AtLA and the funny, but I've enjoyed quite a bit more than that.

I'd love it if you would do some Bleach, Naruto, Faster Than A Kiss, Akumetsu, Skip Beat, Usagi Drop (those are all manga). Tokyo Godfathers is a really good anime movie about three homeless people (a teenage girl, an old man, and a gay crossdresser) who find a baby in a trash bin and try to bring her back to her parents that I'd love to see iconned.

I'd love some Toph/Zuko or Toph+Zuko icons :) Other interests include Fullmeta Alchemist (a new series is coming up which is why I'm looking for icons of the first original anime now). I have screencaps of the movie and OVA here (http://gossymer.livejournal.com/tag/screen+caps) - Edward and Roy are my favorite characters.

Then there's Kare Kano (harder to find caps) and Gakuen Alice which is hillariously cracky XD

More than anything else though, I love chibi!icons - not so much with Avatar but with anime and manga. Especially with fanart - like this totally fluffy and silly comic (http://community.livejournal.com/rahly_furverted/20227.html#cutid1) by red_rahl (she's absolutely fine with peeps making icons as long they credit) - I love the, "how many times do I have to tell you" panel XD Total crack :)

FB: It's the avatar icons that have gotten you the most attention, and while they're awesome, I do think now that the show is over, you can focus even more on other fandoms/media. There is fanart/art - especially on DeviantART and LJ. Not ll aartists mind and some are actually pretty excited to see icons of their work - especially those on LJ.

You're one of the only icon makers I know who has done bollywood icons *_*

I do think you need to overhaul the tagging system though, with group tags like bollywood, disney (most disney cartoons are just listed under movies), stock, live action - top level tags for peeps who aren't looking for a particular fandom but just want all the stock icons or all the disney icons for instance.

Then there's anime and manga - I'm surprised by how little there is of these because with your skills with avatar, you'd do BRILLIANT stuff with them. And there's so many decent ones to watch, especially after Avatar - like Fullmetal Alchemist, Kare Kano, the cracky stuff like Gakuen Alice, Ouran High School Host Club and Nodame Cantabile. I'd kill for decent Kare Kano icons.

Stock icons and text icons - these are particular faves of mine because they work for everyone - fandom is a non issue. After you finish off with the Avatar finale icons, having focus on stock would be great :)

I find your art/cartoon/anime icons to be fabulous - the color intensity, the text when you have it, it works. The live action stuff needs more work - you haven't quite come into your own there. While I'd prefer to see you focus on your strengths, doing 5 to 10 live action icons in each post might be a good thing. It's the quality vs quantity thing - doing fewer will be less pressure and let you experiment with styles.

Also, your text is gold. Most of the time with icon makers, I avoid their text stuff since it rarely works. Yours just pops. I love it. That's probably what attracted me to the comm in the first place.

The one general skill you might need to hone is your cropping. You've got a very traditional, classic method there and it's alright to go crazy and try something extreme or different - it may not always work, but breaking out of your comfort zone would be a good thing IMO - unusual crops can change the whole mood of an icon.

Oye, totally rambled there - these are just my own opinions though and others might feel differently *shrugs* But just thought I'd throw everything at you :)

You're right, though. I'm trying to branch out to different fandoms and subjects and I've been working on more live-action icons in recent posts. And I am definitely more comfortable with iconning art/animated/cartoon subjects as opposed to live-action/photographed subjects. It's not that I enjoy animation over live-action but I get frustrated with live-action subjects because I am confused about the color palette or the cropping or how to get an interesting composition. I'll definitely try to work on my cropping in all kinds of icons though! I'm comfortable in cropping so that the subject is recognizable but I should really try to see what happens when I crop more "artistically". :D

I agree with voodoo_buddha--Tokyo Godfathers is way under-iconed, and it really is a cool movie. I'd recommend trying that.

If you're not too overwhelmed already, I'd like to request an interest icon or two :) Avatar's great, and, although it's not actually listed on my interests, I love icons of The Road To El Dorado, but I never seem to find any. I think it'd go well with your coloring style, though :)
You don't have to do these, of course (I have too many icons as it is xD), but I'd love it if you did!

I love your colors, and cropping. You have excellent use of textures and text. Youa re wicked funny, and you know when an icon is finished. Lots of people (including myself) will tinker away until we've ruined it or loaded it up with distracting things. But your icons are simple, not too busy - which I very much enjoy, and you make pretty, pretty icons for the fandoms I like. <3 :)

Plus, I love all your personal choices for icons, which is just my way of saying that you have great taste.
