shiny icons to sample

It's been a while since I've posted anything so I figured I might get rid of a few things on my hard drive. :)
I blame Iroh.org for most of the Avatar icons... the screencaps are too amazing there! :) The Firefly ones involve a very experimental kind of coloring on my part (you can find the tutorial for the steps I used over here). I thought it fit the warm-toned, dusty feel of the show... but tell me what you think. I'll try to make clear icons at another point, but this was fun! Also, I must say that I had too much fun with the promotional pics for the OoTP movie... it's one of my favorites in the series so I do hope they get it right!

Today we'll be learning to achieve an interesting coloring, such as turning this: into this: or , without the use of selective coloring or any of that fun stuff.

The technique is pretty simple but I've got a bit detailed to help you out when making icons through this method. Unfortunately, this tutorial is NOT TRANSLATABLE to PSP as far as I know because it uses the Pin Light blending method.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make either "The Emperor's New Groove" Icons or more Psych icons... they will definitely be there in the next post!

For several months, I've been using this moodtheme that I've made myself. Now, after actually managing to finish it and go through major revising to improve some crappier-looking moods, I'm finally releasing it for public use.

Dear watchers of iconnaissances,

Last year, at this point, I was just a beginner with all this photoshopping stuff. I was excited, but I was also just scratching at the surface. Now, a year later, I am still just an amateur, but iconning has become something I've really grown to love. It is something that I can do to destress and just express my excitement over a new episode or something.

But all of you have been important to my improvements as well, with all the lovely comments you leave. Because of your encouragement, I've managed to create:

-more than 70 Disney (including PotC) icons

Each and every single one of you is made of AWESOME, m'kay? And because of this, this year, I will be extending my holiday wishes to you as well.

Given my limited time, I can provide three kinds of icons:

-an icon for any one of your interests in your profile
-a personalized wacky definition icon
-a personalized icon with the subject and text of your choice (I'm going to need an image provided by you for this one, if I do not already have said image).
